Acupuncture is based on a system of energy in the body known as "chi" or "qi" that needs balancing for optimal well being.

The energy travels through meridians or channels that can become blocked and can be stimulated by inserting hair thin acupuncture needles into specific points to increase, regulate and balance the flow of energy in the body.

This can allow for better overall performance of the systems of the body.   The World Health Organization cites over one hundred different conditions treatable with acupuncture including weight loss and depression.

There are over 360 acupoints located along the meridians.

Make sure the acupuncturist is licensed. ( see Websites below )

Tell the acupuncturist if you are pregnant.

Consult an acupuncturist for specific health conditions.
