Reflexology uses different massage and pressure point techniques to relax and loosen muscles in the feet and hands. Reflexology is based on energy zones in the body and the reflection of these zones as well as the organs of the body on the feet and the hands.

The feet and hands are viewed as maps or mirrors of the body and by putting pressure on and massaging specific points on the feet or hands it is said to have an effect on the corresponding area of the body.

Reflexology can be done on oneself to an extent or performed by a reflexologist.

There are over 7000 nerve endings in each foot.

Ancient Egyptians are said to have developed the hand and foot techniques, dating back to 2300 B.C.
